For me, it’s realizing that discipline is simply that – doing something even if you really don’t feel like it, but at the same time doing it with a level of focus and dedication in whatever role you may be in – because people get when you are just “going through the motions.”
Sometimes you have to “psych” yourself up to be in those different roles, but if you have a true passion for what you are doing, you’ll find the drive and energy to keep you going.
You do need to have good support system and find ways to leverage your time and delegate as much as you can. That’s where having good systems come into play.
But the biggest thing, I think, is just being focused on your tasks at hand and the outcomes you want to achieve. And when you are at work, focus on work, and when you are at home, focus on your family. The less you are worrying about your family at work and work at home, the more you’ll be able to devote to both endeavors.
