Social media is a good place to start, but all social media is based on the premise of networking and connections between networking contacts and relationships.

If you are new to an area, you will need to hit the networking circuit and “press the flesh.” When you do, remember you are not targeting the person you meet for your services, you are looking to tap into their network of people who may be looking to buy or sell a house or a piece of property.

Real estate is still a relationship business, and you need to do a lot to build rapport, build relationships and build a referral base.

That said, gather all the testimonials you can, put them on your website or into a weekly email blast, and start becoming the expert in your marketplace.

Email is one of the least expensive ways to reach out to your data base … just make sure you are emailing to people who want your weekly updates and you are giving them good information about the market and how you can help them with their needs.
